friday fiasco.

And not a good fiasco.

My "Friday" started at around 11:30 on Thursday night. As in, I did not get more than 2 hours of sleep in total on Thursday night. That's never grounds for a good following day. I can no longer optimally function on limited sleep. Thank goodness Fridays at work are kid-less!

First let me backtrack and share some INCREDIBLY happy news- I passed my boards! I am officially Dr. L. Moot, OTD. Thursday was certainly a good day!

Now, back to Friday. Paisley was sick allllll night on Thursday. The poor puppy was pitiful. I was almost at the point of taking her to the emergency vet because I sensed something was going on beyond just an upset tummy because of the way she was acting (I will spare you all the details!). She finally started acting a little more like herself around 6:30, around the time my alarm unnecessarily started buzzing. I was waiting at the vet when they opened at 7:30... And of course she was bouncing off the walls like he felt just fine. I felt a little silly bringing her in at that point but explained her symptoms and the fact that I didn't feel comfortable leaving her at home after the night she had. I would much rather the vet check her and say she was fine as opposed to something really being wrong.

Well, unfortunately something was wrong and my gut feeling to bring her in was right. Silly dog has been chewing on her toys like a maniac all week (and all of the word work in the house for that mater... totally different discussion) and I have come home several days to supposedly "indestructible" toys in pieces. Well, apparently one of the pieces found it's way into sweet Paise's stomach. And was stuck. Enter lots of phone calls at work between the vet and CSB and discussion of options. (Did I mention CSB was out of town??)

I'll spare you boring details but it was a long morning. Paisley ended up at a specialty (specialty=ridiculously expensive, in case you've not been lucky enough to go through this yourself) emergency veterinarian clinic for an endoscopy. Our vet doesn't do the procedure and felt it was a better option than surgery because of the location of the object.

Sheesh! Paisley came home yesterday afternoon and you would have never known anything happened. She was sleepy (and wanted to sleep in the middle of the bed last night with her head on a pillow- haha!) but otherwise fine. She also has a shaved leg... AGAIN! I told her if she liked it that much we could do it ourselves for a LOT cheaper. Literally her other leg just grew out from her spaying procedure...

I would attach pictures but my phone went for a swim yesterday. In the toilet. I'm telling you, it was not a good Friday. My phone was in my pocket as I was waiting anxiously to hear from the vet about Paisley's procedure... Pants down and in it went- bye bye 4 month old iPhone!

I went to at&t this morning and scored a pretty sweet little number for $10. It will do until I find a reasonably priced replacement.

In other news... I think I found my wedding shoes today! And we bought our bands. :) I am obsessed with the band that matches my ring. It's gorgeous by itself and even more amazing with the ring!
