The Dress

I found my dress today. Well, I technically found it last weekend. However, after a mimosa and bloody mary at brunch prior to embarking onto my second appointment on Saturday in combination with only 4 hours of sleep the night before I was too wiped to know I'd found the one.
I thought it was the one, or at least close, but couldn't quite say yes. I am so thankful for my mother's patience!

It's official, though (well, 98%, I haven't actually purchased it yet). I said yes to the dress. Well, technically two of them! Yep, TWO! Before you starting thinking I've lost it and gone completely overboard, let me explain. I found a dress this past weekend that I almost loved. The top was perfect. The waistline was perfect. The back was perfect. And the skirt was almost perfect. The skirt was the only thing holding me back- it was a little bit fuller than I wanted. The assured me the crinnolin (spelling??) could be removed but I was still a little concerned that the tucks in the side would be too much... So mom and I called it a day, headed to get coffee, and enjoyed an afternoon of almost 60 degree weather while discussing dresses. We headed home and continued to discuss dresses. And browsed websites for dresses. And finally went to bed dreaming of, you guessed it, dresses! And I digress...

Back to my two dresses. Basically, today I tried on the dress from Saturday again followed by a second dress. I fell in love with the skirt of the second dress immediately. It was exactly what I wanted. Alas, attached to a top I didn't love... Shoooooot. A light bulb went off in the saleswoman's head and she disappeared for about 15 seconds. She returned and told me the designer of the dresses (I had no idea the dresses were by the same designer at this point...) would do a pattern change for a minimal fee. As in- combine my perfect top and bottom. Yes, please! I am so. excited.

In lieu of posting pictures of my dress I'm going to leave you with a few that I tried and didn't make the cut but were still beautiful!

Please tell me about the last dress? I am in love with it but haven't tried it on yet? Was it bad?

Hi Haley! I loved the last one. It was very flattering AND had pockets (something I became obsessed with somewhere along the way...). It's so gorgeous, and, if I am remembering correctly (this girl tried on A LOT of dresses) the flower was removable if you wanted to do a broach or something else to accessorize.
