monday pinning

Over the last few months I've received multiple invitations and urges toward using pinterest. Initially, I didn't quite understand the concept. Why do I need to bookmark pictures online when I can just save them to my computer? Well... A few days ago I was searching through the 100s of pictures I've saved wedding-related and after finding it wondered, "hmmmm... where did this come from again?"

Enter my obsession with pinterest. I now understand why everyone loves it.

Here are just a few images I've pinned in the last 24 hours:

I'm just a little obsessed. And wish I started pinning the moment I started planning.

If you are on pinterest feel free to follow along!

Do you pin? Share, please! :)

friday fiasco.

And not a good fiasco.

My "Friday" started at around 11:30 on Thursday night. As in, I did not get more than 2 hours of sleep in total on Thursday night. That's never grounds for a good following day. I can no longer optimally function on limited sleep. Thank goodness Fridays at work are kid-less!

First let me backtrack and share some INCREDIBLY happy news- I passed my boards! I am officially Dr. L. Moot, OTD. Thursday was certainly a good day!

Now, back to Friday. Paisley was sick allllll night on Thursday. The poor puppy was pitiful. I was almost at the point of taking her to the emergency vet because I sensed something was going on beyond just an upset tummy because of the way she was acting (I will spare you all the details!). She finally started acting a little more like herself around 6:30, around the time my alarm unnecessarily started buzzing. I was waiting at the vet when they opened at 7:30... And of course she was bouncing off the walls like he felt just fine. I felt a little silly bringing her in at that point but explained her symptoms and the fact that I didn't feel comfortable leaving her at home after the night she had. I would much rather the vet check her and say she was fine as opposed to something really being wrong.

Well, unfortunately something was wrong and my gut feeling to bring her in was right. Silly dog has been chewing on her toys like a maniac all week (and all of the word work in the house for that mater... totally different discussion) and I have come home several days to supposedly "indestructible" toys in pieces. Well, apparently one of the pieces found it's way into sweet Paise's stomach. And was stuck. Enter lots of phone calls at work between the vet and CSB and discussion of options. (Did I mention CSB was out of town??)

I'll spare you boring details but it was a long morning. Paisley ended up at a specialty (specialty=ridiculously expensive, in case you've not been lucky enough to go through this yourself) emergency veterinarian clinic for an endoscopy. Our vet doesn't do the procedure and felt it was a better option than surgery because of the location of the object.

Sheesh! Paisley came home yesterday afternoon and you would have never known anything happened. She was sleepy (and wanted to sleep in the middle of the bed last night with her head on a pillow- haha!) but otherwise fine. She also has a shaved leg... AGAIN! I told her if she liked it that much we could do it ourselves for a LOT cheaper. Literally her other leg just grew out from her spaying procedure...

I would attach pictures but my phone went for a swim yesterday. In the toilet. I'm telling you, it was not a good Friday. My phone was in my pocket as I was waiting anxiously to hear from the vet about Paisley's procedure... Pants down and in it went- bye bye 4 month old iPhone!

I went to at&t this morning and scored a pretty sweet little number for $10. It will do until I find a reasonably priced replacement.

In other news... I think I found my wedding shoes today! And we bought our bands. :) I am obsessed with the band that matches my ring. It's gorgeous by itself and even more amazing with the ring!

engagement pictures

wedding wednesday

While on summer break last week I made lots of progress on (some past due) wedding projects.

My sweet mama helped me stuff save the date envelopes and I addressed over half of them.

We also worked on reception ribbon wands. My Gaga (grandmother) even got in on the ribbon-cuting for awhile!

In other wedding news... My dress is HERE! I went by tonight and tried her on right after work. I'm SO excited!! :)
She was definitely snug but I am not too worried about dropping a few between now and October and am officially motivated to get back into a good workout/running routine.

P.S. Did I mention our engagement pictures are here?? I wanted to share them with my family first but will be posting them tomorrow or Friday.

country roads

I have thoroughly enjoyed my summer break from work (you know, from the whole 3 weeks I've put in thus far!). As I went straight from school to working, it was much needed. It started on Monday night at my Mom's house, then she and I went on to my little brother's for the night, and then to my grandparents' house for the rest of the week.

It was great to see my little brother and help him with a few things in his house (hanging 6 pictures in his dining room with screws and a screwdriver...) and have dinner on his awesome back porch. I also enjoyed an evening dip in his pool!

The visit to my grandparents was equally wonderful. We ended up staying an extra night because I know it may be awhile before I get back to visit. They live almost 7 hours from Nashville so it's not a trip I am able to make very often! Our days were filled with relaxation and nights with movies. Perfect.

(I did lots of tea-drinking!)

Our drive home today took significantly longer then expected... Enter road construction on 75 N. Yuck!! Luckily the pups are the best behaved travelers ever and slept through the entire drive.

So, while at my grandmother's we ventured out one day to a local nursery/antiques/gift shop. They had some adorable accessories and antiques! I picked this up for my future MIL & FIL as they have been looking for a chest similar to one I have of my grandparents'. If for some reason they decided they don't love it my mom and I are already fighting over it's ownership!

I also picked this up for sweet P-puppy. I hate seeing/having dog dishes out for whatever reason but this makes it a bit more bearable, as I've been on the hunt for cuter (but big enough) dog bowls.

Paisley also thoroughly enjoyed the trip to her great-Gaga's house. She and Sydney (little brother's dog) ran and played in the back yard and she was in heaven! She did get into a little trouble yesterday while unattended in the back yard. Thankfully she only decided to try to dig up a tree root (it was just a big stick to her- her favorite thing to chew!) and none of my grandmother's gorgeous flowers or plants.

After her bath... She just got a haircut last week and I already had to trim the hair out of her eyes!

She was so funny. I put the towel over her and then took a picture. For whatever reason she didn't think she was supposed to move and sat like this for a good 5 minutes (a long time to sit still in Paisley-world!).

Mom and I are off to a wedding this evening! I know sweet MB will be a beautiful bride and I can't wait! CSB was planning to come, however, it just didn't make much sense for him to drive down for one night and us have to drive back sepearately together first thing in the morning. So, I am going stag with my momma (and probably in the same dress I wore to a wedding a few weeks ago, haha!).

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

wedding wednesday/i'm back!

Blog friends! Hi! It's been awhile (again), I know. Seriously, I have excuses reasons. My big girl job, first of all, is taking up my days (as a full time real life job should. welcome to the real world.). I love it, don't get me wrong, but I haven't quite settled into a rhythm. I look forward to the eventual days of not going in early/staying late every. single. day.

Secondly, I've been studying myself silly for boards. I took my exam on Monday night and can only wait until next Wednesday to know the results. Nerves, nerves, nerves!

Also, my sweet brother and momma got me a new toy for graduation:

I'm obsessed and have in result opened Molly the MacBook quite a bit less frequently in the last few weeks. Less MacBook opening=less no blogging. I haven't even been reading my favorite blogs lately because I've just been that busy!

OK. I'm done with my excuses. On to Wedding Wednesday! First of all, I must share: Joon, over at Ordy and Joon, is engaged! SO. excited! Head over and check out her pics (and gorgeous ring!).

Here are a few inspiration pictures for today:

I have a slight obsession with ribbon. I miiiiight have two spools in my desk drawer. Just in case.

The details of this wedding featured on Southern Weddings caught my eye!

These chairs are also adorable.

saturday morning obsessions

I don't even know where to start! I discovered Marley Lilly a few months ago and have been obsessed. I love all things monogrammed (you're shocked, I'm sure) and ML has thought of it all. I want one of everything. However, since my monogram will be changing soon I am making myself hold off on all purchases.

Loving the croakies... And thinking (though I vowed nothing monogramed before October!) I can go for them at only $12.

I am also LOVING all of their floppy hats. My stand by J.Crew is looking a little rough around the edges after a rainy steeplechase two years ago and a few too many abusive pool/beach trips. This is a pre-honeymoon must!

There are lots of other adorable goodies on their website, too.

I am pool bound with the impatient CSB (as he has been looking over my shoulder as I typed this... Making me promise I wasn't actually purchasing anything!).

Enjoy this beautiful Saturday!

9 days...

Eeek! It's been 9 days since my last post. What have I been up to, you ask? LOTS! It's been an interesting 9 days, for sure. Let's see...

Last weekend I attended a wedding (of sorts). It's a long story. Needless to say it was a bit of a disastrous weekend. Saturday began with CSB and I in the Nashville airport at 4:30 a.m. and ended with me in Orlando and CSB and my luggage back in Nashville.

Sunday and Monday were spent in Nashville with friends poolside. And were quite enjoyable! We ended the weekend with an impromptu cookout at the house on Sunday night.

Tuesday marked my first official week of work! Wooo hooo! I officially started 3 weeks ago but trained for a week and then took last week off to study for boards (which I am still studying for and SO ready to take and be done!) Needless to say it was a far more eventful day than one would hope for their first... But the week turned out well. One week down, 45 years to go. (According to CSB at least.)

Tonight CSB and I went to the Vanderbilt Belmont baseball game. I usually cheer for Vandy but was rooting hard for my alumni tonight! Vanderbilt ended up winning big, 10-0, but it was still fun.

Paisley seems to have adjusted well to her mommy working full time. Though she did  decide to chew "read"an entire chapter of a pediatric development notebook on Tuesday... No more incidents with the rug, thankfully. I'll leave you with a few pictures I snapped the other day while we were playing frisbee. I have more but though I've already rotated them in iPhoto they are uploading to blogger unrotated. Weird. It has not been my week with electronics/computers.

(Her poor "poodle" leg  from getting an IV during the spaying process is still in the process of growing back. She is getting another haircut this weekend which will hopefully help!)

Tired, thirsty pup!
